We received feedback from our partners. Abowe links to the cities websites with news about our project. All of them are in native language of our participants but if you want you can try to read it ;)
During our workshop everybody could have seen a man with the video camera. He was not a secret agent or spy...he was our camera man! Thanks to his work we will have memories written in a digital form. This added here is just the 30 sec. teaser of longer 5 inutes verssion. I hope you like it ;) Our workshop is finished. Great results, a lot of great work and and even much more fun working together with all participants. Everybody came back to their cities with some new experience and ideas for city managing improvement. We also had a chance to meet each other expectations and ideas for follow up project. That is why our worksho can be considered as fruitful and well done.
So, thats why I would like to pass my worm geetings to all participants and people involved in project implementation. It was extrem pleasure to meet you all and to work with you for those three intensive days. Now some paper work to do to prepare final report and other necesary document. But I wish it is not the end, I hope we can meet in the future in another great workshop. After oppening conference and long day of work we finaly had our intercultural evening. Partners brought their gifts, snacks, clothes, flags, a lot of good music and even more fantastic humor and positive attitude. It was wonderful evening. ..;)
Although we started yesterday the opening of the project took place today morning. Our project was oppened by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Rzeszów Mr. Stanisław Sienko.
After welcoming of all participants by Deputy Mayor of Rzeszów we present the project and than each partner had an opportunity to present their cities. We could see presentations and videos, everything interesting and well prepared. After yesterday introduction and todyas presentation, working sessions will be "as easy as pie". As the last part of the conference we could hear a short and brief lecturer presented by PhD Anna Kołomycew from University of Rzeszów about "Participative Democracy Tools in City Managemtn". With all this information we could follow the schedule and after short coffee break we could start practical part of the project! CON ANIMO! After first day we can have a small evaluation. All participants have come ready to work, but at the beginning is always good ta have small intergration. First point of the first day was a short tour around the city centre through most beautifull city streets as "3rd of May" and "Under the Chestnut Alley". We could talk a little bit about the city history pasing by Luboomirski Castle and Old Market Square, than we went through "Underground Tourist Rute".
As for the integration and icebreaking we visited "Incubator of Culture" in Rzeszów to get to know each other and to find out how it will work. We had "laughter joga" session and some icebreakers. Than short presentation to each other and explanation of the project: what are we gonna do? how we gonna achieve the goal of the project? Where and how we will be working? As the nice surprice we had soft dringks and pizza for dinner. So for a few hours of the first day it was quite intensive day in great atmosphere. A city ruled together - get a recipe for a good citizen participation. Social participation is participation of citizens in city management process. It is predicted that by the end of the 21st century, in 2100, 85% of the world's population will live in cities. Why in the present world participation is something more than a vote in local elections once in a few years? How to support and expand citizens activity, how to respond for social initiatives and expectations? How to implement and execute real participatory process? What are key condition to be fulfilled in implementation of social participation? Is it possible to decide together about investment projects, social, educational, cultural and sport activities? Where is the capital of social participation, in Brasil or is Switzerland? How many European cities implemented participatory budgeting? Is it already the time of “online” participation? All above mentioned information with even more practical tips, will be presented during our opening conference by our expert Mateusz Nycek. We also look forward to an interesting discussion panel. Already prepared, schedule of our activity. Optimal mixture of presentations, discussions, workshop and networking. I hope that with this schedule we will be able to achieve optimal benefits from our meeting and that it will bear fruits of more efective participative democracy tools used by the cities, future cooperation and even more comon projects. |
