Today I would like to present you a new member of our team. Katarzyna will help us to go through every workshop session and will make it to be as easy as pie. Below you cna find a few words about her. She is a real PRO! :) Katarzyna KOWALSKA Co-founder & Vicepresident of UNIMOS Foundation (www.unimos.global) Since 2004 she has been working in economic, social & technological development in EU funded programmes and projects (overall budget + € 20M euro) implemented in Latin America & Europe. She has worked with regional and national governments, international organizations, business associations, clusters, innovation networks and scientific institutions acting as project director, coordinator of international cooperation, external expert, cluster manager, business-science animator, among others. Work based on proven metodologies and deep strategy experience - in the last five years, successfully designed, implemented and cordinated international projects in different industries and related to transfer, adaptation and pilot implementation of best practices & know how in field of regional development policy instruments, including competitiveness, public-private participation and cross-sectoral cooperation. She is certified Cluster Manager (Empretec/Proex UNCTAD, 2006) and member of TCI Network - leading global network for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and business leaders. Inivited speaker, moderator and facilitator in several events. She has a MS degree in International Relations (Universidad de la Republica/Uruguay), MS degree in Local Government and Regional Policy (Warsaw University/Poland) and currently is a PhD canditate in World Economy Research Institute (Warsaw School of Economics, Poland). She speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish. Specialties: cluster development, internationalization, SMEs export promotion, regional competitiveness & innovativeness, knowledge & best practices transfer, adaptation and local implementation, business and science cooperation, regional systemic development.
Mateusz will be a speaker during our opening conference and discussion panel. He will also take part in our activities and workshop. Durting presentation we will hear what is participative democracy, how it works, advantages and disadvantages of implementing them in our cities. It will be great kick - off to our further activities.

Participatory Democracy’s Emerging Tools -> During hot summer we have even hotter atmosphere in the City Office of Rzeszów. Working hard to prepare our workshop meeting in September. After receiving grant decision we are happy to finally implement our ideas about “participative democracy in city management” and share our experiences with other cities. All partners can’t wait to come to Rzeszów and work about the subject. Our project "Step - Up, Invloving Citizens of Europe" consists in exchanging of experience about participative democrtacy tools during workshop which will take place in Rzeszów between 13th and 16th of September. The project is co-financed from "Europe for Citizens" program which allows us to meet with representatives of 9 diferent cities from Europe and work together on the topic which is very important in every city environment. We will present social involvement tools used in every partner city, we will also exchange experienes about implementing and executing those tools in city management, we will discuss dificulties and benefits of social involvment and as the main goal of the project we will try to elaborate "road maps" how to prepare, implement and execute participative democracy tools to facilitate this process for cities interested in implementig them in the future and want to avoid problems and unneccessary costs. Our workshope will also be greate ocassion to find out ideas for project follow-up. Our workshop in September may be just the beginning of long-term cooperation in the field of Participative Democracy in City Management. We will keep you up to date about the progress! |
